Thoughts on networking, fulfillment and peaches
Surprise!!!
The Scrubs And Roses Etsy Shop is officially live! 🎉 ⤵
This has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while (I actually opened my shop in 2020 but hadn’t activated it until now!). I have always loved creating and want to continue sharing things that are both useful and beautiful.
I’m loving the Fall vibes right now and there are multiple cute seasonal things available.
(Aren’t the pumpkins cute!)
Thank you for being a part of my little newsletter community.
🖤 🖤 Here is 25% off everything at my shop! Would love for you to check it out.

Okay, now onto the rest of today’s content :)
Whenever you meet someone fancy and successful who inspires you, you need to learn more about them!
You know that feeling when you meet someone who is super successful in their career and you wonder how you’ll ever reach that point? You feel like a lost soul in comparison and are still paying for coffee with your free McDonald’s coffee card?
How did they got to where they are now? Did they do more school? Did they just have the right connections?
Well, one way you can find out (other than asking them up front) is by utilizing the social media of the workforce and doing some LinkedIn stalking ✨.
If you don’t have a LinkedIn account, you gotta get one! It’s almost like networking but you do it from the privacy of your computer screen.
And, the best part is, if you’ve already met them you could totally reach out to them and network further.
Did you know - you can turn off the setting where people see you looked at their profile? Learn how to turn off the setting here.
I know it sounds silly but it can help you take note of different paths people took to get to where they are, different post-grad programs that maybe you never thought of etc.
So, next time you meet someone inspiring and you want to know more, try looking them up on LinkedIn! You never know what you might learn.
Two scary questions you need to ask yourself!1
Last week, I watched a TED Talk about uncovering our passions and finding what brings us a sense of fulfillment.
Two questions Noeline Kirabo suggests asking ourselves:
If you had all the time and the money in the world, what would you spend your time doing?
What makes you happy or gives you the deepest sense of fulfillment?
These questions kinda freak me out when I think about them for too long. It’s almost hard to answer them? They are loaded questions but something I continue to reflect on.
I haven’t fully figured out the answers to these questions, but I have realized the following: I enjoy being creative and I want to focus on things that fulfill me (instead of drain me) which is why I’ve been spending loads of time working on my Shop.
I’m not one of those nurses that loves what they do*.
*Does that make me feel out of place and guilty? Ya, sometimes!!
I always felt a lot of pressure because I didn’t know exactly what specialty of nursing was for me. I didn’t love my first job, or my second. I was coming home feeling drained and defeated.
These feelings of lack of fulfillment were partially what inspired me to start this newsletter and my Etsy shop.
I’ve realized I need a life and a space AWAY from my identity as a nurse. A space AWAY from my job/work life. This space and my Instagram account are places where I can connect with my creative side and I love that.
Do I love parts of nursing? Yes.
Do I frequently forget that I love parts of nursing because I’m too busy to pause and be grateful? Also yes!
We don’t all have to be in love with our jobs.
That being said, I do think it’s important to have something (like a hobby) that you love doing. For me, it’s being able to create things. Whether it’s baking, cooking, drawing or making digital art for the shop, all this helps me feel more whole and happy and fulfilled.
Onto the PEACHES!
I made this Peach Cobbler recipe over the weekend as a final farewell to the summer season and it was so tasty.
It actually ended up giving me fall vibes 🍁 because the filling got quite pink (and I added cinnamon which was not part of the recipe but highly recommend).
Lindsay from Pinch of Yum is one of my trusted sources for simple, delicious recipes. I’ve never made something off her blog that I haven’t enjoyed.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Thanks so much for being here and reading! If you made it this far you almost have to go and check out the shop ⤵
